CEEF Provides Training to its Members

The training is intended to enable the private sector to effectively and appropriately fulfill its expected role in implementing the government’s growth and development plans and programs. It emphasized on the understanding of laws and procedures related to the Labour Administration System, fostering successful industrial relations between employers and employees, ensuring occupational safety and health, maintaining clean and pollution-free workplaces, creating favorable employment opportunities for citizens, and expanding social protection services, where the private sector plays a crucial role.

Opening the training, President of the Confederation of Ethiopian Employers’ Federations, Engineer Getahun Hassan, stated that although Ethiopia was among the first African country to join the International Labour Organization, there remains a lot to be done as compared to countries that have recently joined the organization. He emphasized that employers should enhance their knowledge on international and local labour laws, understand their rights and obligations, and operate accordingly. Engineer Getahun further reminded that employers’ associations need to come together now more than ever to raise their concerns and work collectively toward national development.
